If you’re vegan you know some places don’t even offer good vegan options. I’m not vegan but we do enjoy vegan meals with our friends. This is by far one of the better vegan places we go to. We ordered ham fried rice and egg rolls. Also got a mean bun and the Honey walnut shrimp. I really recommend coming here even if you’re not vegan.

Some of the BEST vegan food I have ever had. The teas were amazing and everything we got was just so good. I live in SD but I'm tempted to drive back up just to eat here.

🚫Do not come here!🚫 TLDR: Customer service is non-existent and food is insanely overpriced. Employees are super rude. Full review: After coming here a second time and being treated so poorly and rudely, I have to leave this review. It’s difficult to find good vegan restaurants, and because I’d been here before, I’d decided to return. Prices were a lot higher than when I first came. I bought the Szechuan chicken, orange chicken, and a small bowl of brown rice that totaled to $40.95. Absolutely insane. We arrived at 11am when they open and it was empty. The singular employee on the floor stared at us and then told us to sit instead of greeting us at the door and leading us to our seats. In hindsight, I should’ve walked out of there after this. We sat waiting for 10 minutes while this employee watched television in front of us. When she finally came over, she gave us menus but told us that they were out of date because they didn’t have updated prices on them. She said that if we wanted to see current menu prices, we had to scan a QR code with our phones. I scanned the code, but the site would not load. So, I had to order without knowing the price of what I was ordering. They don’t give you any rice with the dishes you order like other places do. The smallest bowl/scoop of brown rice cost me $2.50 (it was undercooked by the way) while I was told that a small bowl of white rice cost $2. We asked for water to drink and we’re given tap water. Our food eventually came, however, not all at once. The two chicken dishes we’d ordered arrived and the employee told us that the rice would be coming in 6 minutes. What? I’d ordered the rice to eat it with the main dishes. While we sat and waited for the ride, what did the employee do? She sat and ate food and watched television as if she’d been on a break. She was eating with her bare hands. I was stunned. She eventually came back with the rice—more than six minutes later—the main dishes were significantly colder. She did not wash her hands before bringing us our food—she just went straight from her eating to the window where the food was and to our table. How unsanitary and unprofessional. Food was super greasy. When it was time to pay, I did, and did not give a tip because service was horrible. We got up and she yelled at us asking why we didn’t give a tip. She continued to yell at us as we walked out. Spare yourself a horrible dining experience. I’ll be looking for other restaurants to eat at.

Food was still good but we prefer the old decor which was much more homestyle and cozy. I would skip the walnut shrimp and orange chicken, but we really liked the fried oyster mushrooms and lettuce wrap.

So delicious and the friendly service made this visit to House of Fortune Vegan Cuisine such a great experience. We arrived just before closing, and they still provided us an excellent dinner. Highly recommend and looking forward to returning and trying more dishes.
