Fancy Plants Cafe

I’m always THRILLED when I find a vegan restaurant on my travels and FANCY PLANTS was a total FIND! We loved the food and especially loved the atmosphere! I could have lingered all day! I especially loved my Chai Latte, one of the best I’ve ever had. The breakfast sandwiches were delish, and the pastries…. So very good! Don’t miss the coffee cake - it was my favorite!! Keep up the good work Fancy Plants, we’ll be back!

Delightful little spot for vegan food. Perfect for a brunch/lunch meet up, this cafe has a small yet enticing menu of great vegan cafe classics like grilled cheese, breakfast burritos, pastries, fun coffee drinks… I had the breakfast burrito: scrambled tofu mixed with beans, salsa, and sautéed mushrooms, served with chips and a nice spicy green salsa. It was super delicious and extremely filling. I’ll definitely return to try some I’d the other items and this time leave room for a muffin or chocolate croissant!

One of my go to’s when I’m in Chicago. I love this place. I get the lox bagel on gluten free bread. It is so yummy! They also always have muffins from Mindful Baking, which I grab a few every time I visit. The Ube Muffin is my now favorite flavor they offer at this time, but they are all good. I prefer when they are on the moist and more gooey side than the over baked. My friend and I love to sit at their outside seating for lunch. When I first started going there (which has been quite a while) everyone working there seemed so happy to help all the time and see us. I would sadly say that we don’t get those employees anymore. None the less, they are still very helpful and I will always stop in for a treat when I’m in town.

Such a gem of a spot, with all vegan foods! Went there for breakfast and couldn't have been happier. I highly recommend the chocolate croissant and pistachio cookie, both flavors I will never forget.

The best croissant I have ever had. The sandwiches and savory offerings are also great; pastries are incredible. The craft coffees are creative but a little too sweet for me. I will say, the drip coffee is not it. But every food item I have tried has been delicious and it is on an adorable street with great ambiance.
