Great cafeteria-style place with delicious vegan soul food! We tried the jambalaya (very tasty), gumbo (not bad), cauliflower (apparently delicious), mac n cheese and fried mushrooms (both separately tasty but especially good mixed together), and the bread pudding (quite stodgy but great flavour). The corn bread was also nice, as was the ginger drink. The staff were very friendly and efficient, and the general atmosphere was great - a varied mix of people gave it a very local vibe. Overall, a great place with lovely food that I would absolutely go to again!

Please note: they are closed on Sundays & Wednesdays. Excellent service from friendly staff & out of this world flavors! Their dishes must be tried to be believed. The Orange Cauliflower, Fried Mushrooms, Collard Greens & Cabbage, and the Creole Curry are all outstanding. Others in my groups raved about the Shepard's Pie, Cashew Mac n Cheese, Bread Pudding and salad. This is a must have anytime you're in town.

I visited Sweet Soulfood last week along with my friend. We are from Gulfport and were visiting New Orleans. My friend is vegan and hence she chose the place. Ample parking space available at this restaurant. We went around 11 AM and it was decently busy. The restaurant had 20 - 25 people sitting facilities available. The food was given in a To Go Boxes irrespective of dining in or takeout, which makes sense as it saves time when you want to takeout. It was my first time trying this cuisine. My friend already tried before. I liked Gumbo and Mac and Cheese (Cashew) out of everything. I would definitely go back and give it a go. The staff serving the food were really helpful in sorting out the meal for me. Overall I had a great time here. I hope to try out other dishes next time.

It's not often I have the pleasure of authentic vegan soul food with great portion sizes. The staff were very welcoming and kind as well. 🫶The orange cauliflower WOW! The bread pudding and sauce is so good I shed a tear. It's not too sweet and perfectly balanced flavors. I am so happy I stopped by Sweet Soulfood on my way to the French Quarter for New Years 2025.

This was soooooo gooooood that I went back twice!😭 They serve a range of different food every day. I went on a Thursday & Monday. The first photo is orange cauliflower, cashew mac & cheese, gumbo & collared greens. The second photo is cornbread dressing, fried cauliflower, green beans & jambalaya. The third photo is bread pudding. There was so much flavour to everything & the portions were massive, so I was able to get lunch & dinner from one serve. Everything they make is vegan & insanely delicious 🙏🏼💚🌱 So grateful to be able to try vegan soul food!
