All the sushi here is delicious, especially the eel sushi made with eggplant. The interior of the restaurant is very luxurious. The pet-friendly patio is also very pleasant in front of the ocean. The heating on the outside patio is weak, so it's a little cold at night, so I recommend wearing warm clothes. The staff are all friendly and smart.

This is my second time trying PLANTA after enjoying them at their Chicago location a year ago. We went specifically for happy hour (16:00 - 18:00) and were able to get a few orders of bites and drinks in before it ended. Everything on HH was discounted about $1-2 so it's not huge savings, but every little bit counts. Some of the dishes we had were great while others were simply okay. We loved their mushroom tacos the most but found their "loaded nachos" to not be very loaded, and the avocado dip ended up being a ceviche which was fine but not great. We also ordered a sushi roll and their truffle mushroom udon, which was a favorite of mine from Chicago. Both were good but I was definitely surprised at how little udon we had for the $30 price point. Great flavors, but I feel it could've been a bit better for the price. Aside from that, PLANTA was still another good experience. The drinks were well made, the ambiance is stellar, and service was great.

Beautiful all plant based restaurant in Marina del Rey! Towards the back of the restaurant and outdoors there is a view of the Marina. There are so many great options and all are all served in amounts you can share. We had the volcano roll, dragon roll, 1000 layer crispy potatoes, crab cake and the Al pastor bowl. All were 10/10. Couldn’t believe the delicious flavors. They have a large drink menu that includes Mock-tails. I had the watermelon rose but it was a juice. For desert, we ordered the Brownie with lattes. The service was top tier and they keep that place moving yet enjoyable. We will definitely be going back and this is a great place to bring your non vegan friends. They will love the flavors.

The first time I ate here I was really impressed. Vegan food done superbly. The second time however I started getting disappointed with the quality of the food. For their prices I would expect something impressive but it just doesn’t deliver. The restaurant itself is really nice, clean and well decorated. The outdoor patio is dog and baby friendly. The staff are very welcoming and attentive. But the food is just not great. The drinks are not made with fresh ingredients and you can tell. The fruity margaritas are just sickly sweet. And that’s the thing- because of their Asian inspired vegan dishes, everything seems overly sweet. Nicely plated and presented but the flavors are not there and the food is lacking seasoning. Every dish I tried was on the sweet side: from the black garlic tofu to the creamy mushroom noodles and the sticky broccoli.

Neither of us are vegetarian, but we really enjoyed this restaurant. The menu is a total Goldilocks, not too big, not too small. We came for lunch and shared the Caesar salad cups, lettuce wraps, and the crispy gyoza and all were beautifully presented, delicious, and had a very satisfying texture. We had the Horchata cheesecake for dessert which was also fantastic. The atmosphere and the location on the Marina complete the experience.

We had a very nice drink here (no food) and happened to catch the tail end of happy hour which had really good prices! The experience was a bit up and down for us. No beer on tap which was an opportunity, as was the limited wine by the glass selections. The food options looked great. The bartender, seemed a bit disinterested in us at first as we sat there for 5 minutes as the bar back did dishes and she was slow to take our order. The water front setting and ambiance were outstanding. So, it was a 4 for me, but I would come back for another try down the road for the ambiance! VictorB
