Visiting from out of town and stopped into Red Emma’s. What caught our attention was, it’s a “worker cooperative bookstore, cafe, and community events space”. All the food is vegan which was perfect for us and absolutely delicious (whether you’re plant based or not). The vibe inside is bright, spacious, and chill with plenty of seating. Before or after your eat there’s a bookstore you can check out. The selection, you can tell, is intentionally curated and so rad. There’s even a cute spot upstairs for the little ones. All in all, stoked with our experience and can’t wait to go back! P.S. THE PASTRIES!!!

Their iced mochas and muffins are fantastic. I just learned that they're all plant-based too? Bravo! This is a great, lesser-known, study spot for Hopkins students who are tired of their dorm or the library (or the "annex" *blegh*). Wifi is fast and the seats are comfortable. I personally haven't shopped among their selection, but there are definitely some interesting choices offered!

Love this space for co-working, events, and the free clothing / toiletries exchange in the back. Also love that the whole menu is vegan! The imitation meat is always seasoned well. I do wish masks were still required to make the space more accessible — this used to be the only space I could go in Baltimore where a majority of people masked, but now I’d say it’s less than half. Masks are optional in the cafe and might be required in the free school if the event organizer chooses. They also don’t keep masks out at the Greenmount Avenue entrance like they used to, so it seems masking is less encouraged than it used to be. If you’re concerned about exposure to illness I’d recommend wearing an N95! They’re usually available by the register.

This has been on my list for a while! Came here for a book talk and then came back to sit and work. The coffee was excellent the first time, not so much the second, so taking a star off for consistency. It’s such a vibe here though! I love the bookstore, all the signage, the events, and overall atmosphere. I didn’t get any food but it seems like folks around me were enjoying it.

Didn’t realize Emma’s was 100% plant based until I got to the counter to order. Prefer whole milk coffee drinks but the oat milk latte I got was pretty good. Also tried the grilled cheese which was not bad.
