The chicken is REALLY that good! Stopped in on a Friday Eve to try the place out for the first time and we were pleasantly surprised. For $20 with tip, two people can have a filling meal. I'm an omnivore and my wife is meat free. It was nice that we could both go somewhere and just order whatever and still share. I let the guy behind the counter know (really nice btw) that it was our first time and he recommended the two piece bucket. We got honey mustard as the dipping sauce and mashed potatoes as the side. Our order was out in less than 5 minutes. The gravy on the mash was incredible and the maple "butter" was just perfect for the biscuit. The chicken and tots were crispy and hot. I caught myself wondering why I'd even need to bother eating real chicken again. The chicken is that good!!

Just do it, don’t consider anywhere else for lunch/dinner…just go. Herbies chicken is by far, hands down, no questions asked, the BEST vegan chicken I have ever had. There is no feeling like ordering a BUCKET of chicken with ranch and just chowing down! The flavor was perfect, and the level of crunch can’t be beat. The sides complimented the chicken very well too. Only issue is the inside seating is a little squishy, but with some chicken to eat, who cares.

Intentionally misleading. They put "BUTCHER" and "FRIED CHICKEN" in the name and purposefully obfuscate the menu items to confuse and trick people. I went to the website and NOWHERE does it say it's vegan. In fact, it calls itself "a fast casual fried chicken restaurant". Why not include vegan in that description? The only reason you wouldn't include that (very important!) word is to trick people into ordering food from your restaurant thinking it's actual chicken and *somehow*, I guess, change their minds into thinking vegan meat is OK. Well, it's not OK. I feel duped and deceived. The food is not what I wanted and NOT what was advertised. The vegan chicken is mostly breading. The texture is weird. The flavor is weird. More importantly, it just plain tastes bad. The tater tots are pretty OK. The baked beans are OK. The biscuit is hard and bland. The tater tots are the only thing I could eat. My boyfriend and I only had a few bites, and we also experienced gastrointestinal pain afterwards for a couple hours. This is a common complaint from many other reviewers. Please change your business and advertising practices because this is extremely unethical.

Vegan fried chicken?? Yes!! I’m glad I got to go here, I haven’t had fried chicken quite like this since going vegan. Great flavor and texture. The 3 piece bucket was great and came with tots and a biscuit. The biscuit and vegan honey butter were superb. I also really liked the BBQ and Ranch sauces. It reminds me of when I used to eat at KFC back in the day. We also got their new fried mozzarella sticks, but they were just okay. The cheese is more gooey than stringy, and are a bit pricey for what they are. The chicken sandwiches were also very good and the sauces on those were very good. Perfect for a vegan chicken craving. The staff was also very nice.

This was some of the best food I've had period. The benefit: it's 100% vegan! The small basket was a large portion of food and oh so tasty. I got the mashed potatoes as my side and will count down the days until I can get another cup of those flavorful potatoes and that delicious gravy. This is definitely a staple anytime we're back in Minneapolis.
