Chilango PDX

Very hard to find vegan Mexican food in Denver! So coming to PDX and trying Chilango was a delight. The food was incredible and the owner has such genuine and magnetic energy!

What a beautiful experience! Truly plant-based food that is hearty and made with love. The owner is just so dang pleasant!

This restaurant is a must-visit! I had four tacos, each with a different filling, and every one was unique and bursting with flavor. The variety and creativity in the fillings were impressive. I also tried the corn in a cup, which was absolutely delicious, and the chips with beans—a simple dish, but so well-executed it stood out. Everything tasted fresh, high-quality, and satisfying without being heavy. The food here not only tastes amazing but also leaves you feeling good. Highly recommend this spot for anyone craving flavorful, plant-based Mexican cuisine. Can’t wait to go back!

Best vegan tacos in Portland.... And maybe the US too. We come here a few times every few weeks to catch our taco fix. The taco flavors and fillings are so amazing and inventive. My favorites are the pumpkin seed mole, jackfruit tinga, and hibiscus. Their blue corn quesadilla with extra filling is amazing too. Each item is like a good snack and pretty affordable. Don't miss out if you're in the Alberta neighborhood!

It has been three months since my visit to Portland, and I still remember this meal vividly. It is no secret that Mexican restaurants tend to offer menus based around either land animals or seafood. Finding Chilango shows the range Mexican cuisine has without any meat and without any apology or attempts to mimic what is seen as traditional. The flavors are varied and offer options that are sure to make anyone happy. I look forward to eating there again.
