Monster Vegan

I LOVE this place! I’ve gone here a few times and each time is better than the last! The staff is incredible considerate and everyone works super hard. The manager Matt is attentive, has a great eye for detail, and he’s hilarious! I’ve dealt with multiple servers here, but the most recent one (Brooke? Brook?) was super sweet and quick to help. Restaurant has always been incredibly clean and well kept. Service is always fast. Everyone is always very friendly. And the food is PHENOMENAL. 10/10 I will always recommend this place to people.

Monster Vegan is a unique and incredible vegan (obviously) restaurant in Philadelphia, PA. A true favorite among locals, local-ishs, and beyond! It is true to its name with a ‘monster’ theme and showing clips and full-length classic scary movie flicks. The food is incredible- a unique array of options sure to suit any taste for both vegans and non-vegans! (My husband loves it and he is not vegan). We especially love the seitan wings and sandwiches- so many options to choose from! They also have drinks and unique cocktails and mock-tails. I personally don’t drink and don’t even usually go for a nick-version, but my friend led that do always rave about them. I highly recommend this spot if you’ve never been! You will want to come back again and again!

I loved visiting this restaurant so much! My boyfriend and I ordered the Korean bbq wings, cheesesteak egg rolls, the karloff, the argento & the Oreo beignets. We split everything & it was all delicious. Something to note is that my boyfriend can be quite the critic when it comes to vegan food, but he said this was the best vegan restaurant he’s ever been to! He loved everything besides the egg rolls, which he said were okay. He was very impressed by the steak in the karloff & the wings. He also really enjoyed the pumpkin ale, I just had liquid death. I’m focusing on what he thought because he’s much newer to vegan food. I’m easier to please, and I personally loved everything haha. Our waitress was a total sweetie, and was happy to answer any questions we had. It was very crowded and our food came out super fast! We ended up leaving with the majority of our appetizers, because the sandwiches we ordered were plenty on their own (the food came out so quickly that we didn’t get to eat much of the appetizers). I still made room for dessert, though, and I adored the beignets! I think prices were fair considering the quality of the food, the atmosphere & the portion sizes. We’ll definitely be back.

I purchased the general tso chicken sandwich, it was absolutely amazing. A little too much bread, it would probably be better on two slices of bread. To each their own, but I don't disagree it changes the quality of the food. It was absolutely tasty and some of the best vegan food I've ever had. The variety of food makes it very easy to find something you like. The service was bad because they were understaffed. The service itself was good, they were just under staffed and I was only stopping for a quick bite to eat. The atmosphere is absolutely freaking amazing. A little tight, but it's cozy.

The food was tasty, but I just think it’s overpriced. Lunch ended up being like $150 for two people. Maybe we ordered too much but that still feels high. There are other restaurants with similar food where we pay $100 or less for equivalent amount of food. I like to see vegan food representation tho.
