Araya's Place Vegan Thai Bellevue

This spot is perfect for anyone who loves Thai food and follows a vegetarian or vegan lifestyle. The flavors are vibrant, with just the right level of spice, and they even offer vegan meat options, which is a nice touch. I especially enjoyed the Tom Yum soup—it was delicious and packed with flavor. The crispy spring rolls and veggie tempura were tasty too, though a tad on the oily side. Overall, it’s a great place for plant-based Thai food that doesn’t skimp on flavor!

The place has a lovely ambience and great service. The portion sizes are generous, and the food definitely justifies the prices. We had the Hot and Sour Soup, Tum Yum Fried Rice, Drunken Mushroom Noodles, and Panang Curry—all flavorful and well-prepared. If you’re not used to spicy food, I recommend spice levels 1-3; for spice lovers, level 4 is a good kick, but level 5 is seriously hot, even for regular spice eaters. While the ambience is nice, it may not be ideal for a first date, though that could just be personal preference. Their drink menu is also unique and worth trying. Overall, this place has definitely earned a spot on my list of top Thai restaurants!

Disappointing Experience Visited on a weekend and faced a huge wait time. Unfortunately, every dish we tried was overly sweet, lacking authentic Thai spice. The Thai Fried Rice tasted like tomato ketchup mixed with rice, and the Drunken Noodles were similarly underwhelming. Definitely would not recommend this place.

This place is amazing! It’s located in old downtown Bellevue. I loved the atmosphere of the place. The food was delicious. We ordered the vegetable tempura and the lunch special (which I heard replaced the buffet they used to have). It was so filling and I took leftovers home because they serve such a generous amount of food. You have the choice of the day’s curry (which was yellow that day) or vegetable stir fry. Also option of white or brown rice. We parked across the street but you can get your parking validated. The food came out quickly and the service was excellent. Highly recommend!

delicious vegan thai food conveniently located in old bellevue by the park. every time i’ve been here, it’s been wonderful. i’ve gotten lucky and the weather was nice pretty much each time so i’ve gotten to sit outside. this place is fairly popular so it’s busy a lot of times, especially after work hours. the wait times can be long and it can seem crowded inside. i promise that it’s justified! i can truthfully say that this is some of the best thai food i’ve ever had. i’m not even vegan lol but i’ll go here before most other thai places. i would say they shine best with their curries, especially the panang. their lunch special is also extremely hard to beat — it’s so cheap for a ton of food, i wasn’t even able to finish it all. if you like thai food, this is a must-try. vegan or not.
